HOLLOW OUT
MARKET STREET?

We Say NO!

Seligman Western Enterprises, a company created by the Seligman family of Southfield, Michigan, has come to San Francisco on a mission: to clear people and groups without a lot of money from mid-Market and lead a push to gentrify this part of town. They are willing to empty their buildings of rent-paying tenants who serve community needs and keep them empty while they wait for upscale tenants to appear.

They have their own bank (Sterling Bank) to finance their scheme. Already they have bought

1540 Market Street,
1095 Market Street,
1035 Market Street, and
785 Market Street.

At the Grant Building (1095 Market Street), Seligman is demanding that the remaining tenants agree to huge rent increases and punitive lease terms.

The Grant Building Tenants Association has organized to resist their agenda, to keep this part of town hospitable to non-profit organizations, artists and writers, and small businesses that provide community services.

Please support us.

Call Seligman Western Enterprises at (415) 551-7813 and insist they negotiate fair leases for the tenants in their buildings.
